In the automotive industry Odette labels are used as the standardised barcode labelling for accurate identification of goods and for relating the physical arrival of goods to a previously received Odette Despatch Advice message. The labels will typically be A5 in size, with the label divided into fields relating to details of the product and information regarding the shipping of the package. Ordinarily these will be attached to the container of package of the goods in question.
